Black Panther - The Marvel Movie which is bringing African culture into the limelight, both on and o

Black Panther is a Marvel superhero who first appeared in Fantastic Four vol. 1 #52 in 1966. The character originally had the name 'Black Panther' but changed this in a later addition to 'Black Leopard' due to the political connotations of the name. The Black Panther Party was a political party formed to challenge police brutality against the African American community. The party reached its peak in 1968 with around 2,000 members but later declined as violent tensions increased.

Marvel have now produced Black Panther for release this year and it is being praised for its portrayal of African heritage and its representation of both black characters and female characters.

At the premier of the movie, the dress code was "African Royalty" and the stars did not disappoint, with traditional African dress being worn.
